Finnish rap pioneer and Rähinä Records co-founder Elastinen brings his EK2 tour to Jyväskylä. The rapper returns to his roots with the new EK2 album which is a powerful celebration of a 20-year journey to the heart of Finnish hip hop.
Elastinen returned to his rap roots with the release of EK2 in November 2024. The album is a sequel to his debut album Elaksis Kivi, released exactly 20 years earlier — a record that has stood the test of time as a Finnish rap classic.
The first single, Pääs kii, dropped on November 15, 2024. With self-produced boom bap beats and raw, honest lyrics, the track dives deep into the essence of Finnish hip hop. “Endangered, the last dino of my kind,” raps Elastinen, as he reflects on his 25+ year career through the lens of an experienced and confident artist.
EK2 honors the sound of the original album while delivering an entirely new set of tracks — with no features. While Elaksis Kivi explored Elastinen’s roots, values, and growth as an artist, EK2 picks up where the story left off. “EK2 is a return to my roots as both a producer and a writer. I aimed to recapture the same spirit and joy I had 20 years ago. When I let go of expectations, I found myself again,” Elastinen explains.
